Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a recent BSc or MSc graduate looking to advance their career in synthetic chemistry, to join our Production labs in Bratislava, Slovakia. The successful candidate will join our Production team to execute lab work using provided synthetic routes and solve practical problems through the application of chemical synthesis, design, testing and development

Role and Responsibilities

  • ​Scale-up and optimisation of current ones
  • Synthesis of Chemical specialties following existing protocols.
  • The scale of the synthesis may range from 100’s grams to 10´s of kgs.
  • Working equipment range from laboratory glass to glass-lined reactors.
  • Sampling and monitoring of ongoing reactions
  • Record experimental detail and analytical data accurately
  • Perform all laboratory work in a safe manner and comply with all regulations, adhere to company policies
  • Share basic maintenance and housekeeping duties of production equipment and chemistry laboratory areas
  • Experience in chemical production is very welcomed.

Requirements

  • BSc or MSc Graduate in organic chemistry or technology experience within carbohydrate, nucleoside, pharma or related production is an advantage
  • Familiarity with a wide range of organic synthesis techniques
  • A strong mechanistic understanding of synthetic chemistry
  • Technical thinking, understanding of processes
  • Self-motivated, well organised and pro-active learner
  • Able to work within a team, communicating confidently both in writing and orally, often under pressure to meet deadlines.
