Within the Product & Marketing division of Orange Business, Communication Services Business Line is in charge of the network solutions that support our B2B customers in their digital transformation with an approach increasingly oriented “Network as a Service”. It represents 40% of Orange Business’ revenue and delivers solutions to French and International customers, from SMEs to Multinationals.

Its organization includes Marketing, Engineering, Consulting offering projects, as well as Business Development, which serves all distribution channels in France and Internationally.

Within this organization, the "Customer Solutions Engineering" (CSE) team is in charge of defining, validating and developing connectivity services and customer solutions.

 

Customer Solutions Engineer’s role

About the role

You have a key role in supporting the digitization of next-generation SDN networks for our customers and more specifically in the SDLAN (Software Defined LAN) activity / domain.

You participate in a profound transformation in the way of designing and delivering automated and programmable network solutions, applied to the LAN product of our Business Unit by developing a new SDLAN offer within the Evolution platform (a.k.a. Orange Telco Cloud Services).

Customer Solutions Engineer works on both Customer Solutions development as well as Product development.

In particular, CSE Engineer takes a part or a full set of the following responsibilities and relative deliveries:

  • Technical design and Architecture
  • Technical development and Laboratory testing
  • IT and Operational integration assessment
  • Release management and technical support on the solutions or products designed and developed

Ecosystem

Within the Connectivity Development department, made up of about a hundred people, you work within a team of (SDLAN) experts of about ten people (Customer Solution Engineering team). You are fully integrated into the architecture, Engineering and LAN Operation & Security teams. You will be in daily collaboration with marketing & operational experts and software developers.

Customer Solutions Engineer’s profile

Expertise areas 

Proven Experience on IP Networking architecture and technologies:

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, principles and standards
  • Routing/Switching (WAN – LAN – WLAN)
  • Network & Cloud based Security
  • Ntw. management & monitoring
  • Working experience with Cisco Catalyst Center / DNA-Center management system and respective elements of Cisco SDA architecture
  • Fundamental knowledge of Software Defined Networks and Network Function Virtualisation
  • Understanding of SD-WAN technology concepts and principles
  • Experience with:
    • OSS/BSS and Orchestration
    • Controllers & NFVs
    • virtualisation technologies (VM Ware, KVM, …)

Programming and Software Development skills will be significant advantage :

  • Solid understanding of automation or/and network programming concepts and principles (e.g. Python scripting, Robotframework, Ansible, Terraform plans, API definition, CI/CD tools - e.g. Jenkins, Git, .., etc.)
  • Ability to integrate technical systems through APIs and custom interfaces

Experience and Education

Experience :

Minimum of 5 years in Telco/ICT industry, particularly experienced in design and architecture of telecommunications solutions

Education :

  • Degree in SW Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer science or equivalent
  • Recognized certification in related topics (e.g. Cisco CCNA/CCDA to CCIE or equivalent)

Languages :

English fluent (spoken, written). French (spoken, written) will be a plus.

base salary from 2,160 € brutto per month, actual salary is likely to be higher based on skills, knowledge and experience.
