Our opportunity

We are seeking a Platform Manager (Engineer) to join our Enterprise Data Analytics & Architecture (EDAA) organization. Our team is part of the Enterprise Transformation Team in Group Operations.
Our main objective is to act as an execution partner for Business Units and Group Functions for the implementation of their data strategy through the delivery of expertise, platforms and services under terms that are superior to local alternatives.
In Bratislava the team provide services across the full Data Analytics Delivery portfolio.

As Platform Manager/ Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

• Define strategy for the platform, plan upgrades and platform improvements
• Plan for future grow of load on platform
• Install new features/plug-ins on request of customers
• Coordinate installation of required software on remote servers
• Communicate with software vendor and customers about future plans, maintenance and outages
• Keep platform available according to SLA
• Define: standards and best practices for users/customers on platform; monitoring metrics; KPIs for charge and details for quotation
• Automate operations on platform to simplify platform support
• Create and keep updated: documentation about platform and security model of your platform; security model of your platform
• Provide Support to customers if required
• Support code deployment with code audit

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

As a Platform Manager/ Engineer for Monitoring and Web services, your skills and experience will ideally include:

• 2+ years of experience working as an Operations engineer (or Operations manager is plus)
• 1+ Experience to work with IBM Websphere based platforms is a plus
• 1+ years of experience in one of the technology IIS, Tomcat
• Knowledge of coding in one or multiple scripting languages (Bash/Powershell)
• Ability to write complex SQL queries
• A good communication skills with customer and vendors
• Is visionary – like to observe new technology that have potential to change how we do things
• Focused on order in documentation and financial
• Customer oriented

Nice to have:

• Experience with IBM Websphere
• Experience with IIS
• Experience with big data technologies
• Experience with data integration tools
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
• Experience in automation of regular tasks using Bash/Powershell scripting
• Experience with Azure cloud
• Understanding security concepts
