Job description, responsibilities and duties

As the JHT Assistant and Labeling Associate, you will be responsible for the graphic creation of all product components for labeling and packaging at Convatec Manufacturing plants, affiliates, and third party manufacturers.
The core element of this position is to translate or transfer design inputs from the label request process into compliant and implementable art on finished goods. The role is to coordinate and manage the label request process.
The aim of the Labeling Team is to generate production-ready-graphics for finished goods.
This position will ensure that work is performed in a manner that is safe, effective and compliant with regulated procedures and company policies.
This role will be a key resource for coordination and implementation of Market driven package and label changes.
Execute and help with the testing in the Lab to evaluate package integrity, performance and function in the area of packaging.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrated ability and desire to learn new concepts and function in the arena of Packaging and Labeling. This will include; proof reading, labeling processes and graphics arts and will cover but is not limited to labels, inserts, Instructions for Use (IFU’s), cartons, and leaflets.
• Illustrates basic ability to take ideas and instructions from a variety of sources and, with supervision, interpret, organize, and present them in an organized format from concept through completion (print and/or electronic).
• Reviews and prioritizes production work and other tasks working closely with Team Leader, Manufacturing Sites, Regulatory and Graphic Artist. Adjusts priorities according to due dates and interpretation of time necessary for production. Plays a supportive role in planning and preparing designs for new products and projects.
• Communicates effectively with other graphic artists and members of their team. Clearly identifies problems and solutions that arise with projects and discusses accordingly. Provides training to new personnel and communicates with outside vendors, printing suppliers, Package Engineers, Projects Administrators, and Marketing Group.
• Demonstrates ability to be detailed oriented. Demonstrate a desire to learn and master the function of Proof Reader.
• This individual will represent the Labeling team on project teams they participate on.
• Perform JHT tests in the packaging lab and prepare related documentation reports.
• Pro-actively investigates change through creative technical solutions that are grounded in a realistic assessment of what can be achieved.

Personality requirements and skills

Required:
• Familiar in Graphic Design/related field or equivalent work experience.
• Familiar with the Windows Office suite of software tools: Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Education and/or background with database.
• Education and/or background with Project Management tools
• Understands engineering concepts of package design as well as the requirements to manufacture packaging components (folding cartons, corrugated shippers, thermoformed trays).
• Knowledge of medical packaging, bar code development and symbology UPC, EAN.
• Software administration experience with enterprise business applications. Knowledge of computer information systems and software engineering.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.

Preferred requirements:
• Broad knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), medical device or pharmaceutical industry standards, and other regulatory requirements
• Knowledge of product commercialization and package development process.
• The ability to read and/or speak multiple languages is plus.
