OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
• This role will be the API platform engineer, focusing on driving improved business & patient outcomes through a global common platform approach using loosely couple architecture using hardened APIs.
• Responsible for transforming the product vision and the overall back-end functional requirements and be able to implement robust backend integrations that support patient engagement solutions.
• The key platform technologies used by our API platform are Salesforce, Mulesoft & AWS, so a strong background of having developed integrations with proven reliability and track record using these technologies is highly critical.
• Be able to optimize the global API platform to improve the performance, security, robustness and governance
• Be able to pparticipate actively in the team by taking leading role in discussions and ceremonies to help shape implementable user stories.
• Able to propose several solution implementations options with their pros, cons & impacts against the overall design principles of the platform.
• Align and integrate well with Solution architects, and other enterprise stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other developers across teams, vendors and business units, both as ad-hoc problem-solving
• Support non-technical team members in understanding the technical implications of design decisions.
• Despite being part of a product team, be able to adapt and work under an enterprise governance and operational model to deliver consistent solutions using our defined patterns, guidelines and framework.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Strong coding skills, problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate efficiently with the product Agile/Scrum team members by defining and articulating the backend-complexity & effort for user-stories, socialize product and delivery risks.
• Maintain and develop for digital products (client facing application side) and continuously delivers enhancements through CI/CD practices.
• Strong & proven track record of developing Backend Salesforce solutions that handle Data management (Bulk, Real-time), job scheduling and similar services using APIs.
• Experience with databases, middleware, ESB or ETL technologies (Mulesoft, AWS, etc.)
• Continuously reach out to demonstrate and validate developed functionality
• From time to time, report on the state and direction of Takeda PEP environments to technology and business leaders
• Ability to work in complex environment and enjoy working autonomously.
• Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
• Reviews and ensures major implementation approaches are reusable, consistent, maintainable and flexible.
• Capable of delivering API implementations end to end which includes Planning, Design, Development, Testing, and Deployment.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a Computer Science/Information technology; or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in developing backend solutions with strong orientation towards Salesforce, Mulesoft, AWS, etc., and having worked in DevOps model and agile methodologies.
• Understanding development principles of middleware and integration technology, Agile, architecture patterns
• Understanding of working in a multi-regional platform architecture and its supporting infrastructure.
• API product expertise using Mulesoft and AWS API gateway, Common API design patterns.
• Platform product expertise using backend development & common AWS technologies.
• Prefer certification in the following areas or ability to rapidly certify.
Salesforce: Platform Developer I, Integration Architecture Designer, Data Architecture
Mulesoft Certified Developer (Mule 4)
Mulesoft Certified Architect (Mule 4)
AWS Certified Developer Associate
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean Startup, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers, Business Analysts)
• Experience working in a self-sufficient delivery team with autonomy and accountability.
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions
