Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is the commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group. We offer innovative insurance solutions to large and midsized multinational corporations from our approximately 50 locations worldwide. We help clients mitigate their risk exposure, whilst our industry-leading claims service provides them with additional peace of mind.
About the role
• Responsible for timely and accurate submission of the financial data of Corporate Solutions EMEA legal entities to Group Finance into the Group Financial Reporting Application (GFA) structure
• Responsible for monthly cost submission – mapping/allocating local expense items into the GFA structure
• Responsible for segmenting monthly investment submissions
• Responsible for quarterly submission of additional information on the group filing (AIQ)
• Perform quality assurance, IGR controlling and monitoring, FX checks, review and approve account reconciliations
• Assist in financial controlling and monitoring of EMEA legal entities; drive issue resolution as needed
• Provide comprehensive analysis and business commentaries with respect to the accounting policy, reporting, monitoring and reconciliation activities according to management requirements
• Ensure compliance with risk and control frameworks and audit requirements
• Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
• Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities

The Finance Corporate Solutions Team is responsible for US GAAP reporting to Group Finance and enables the publication of consolidated financial statements at group level. The position holder is responsible for the timely and accurate filing of the US GAAP result from the Corporate Solutions entities to Group Finance in all required formats. The team is also supporting the entities and branches in accounting, controlling, financial analysis and reporting, according to local statutory and tax requirements as well as US GAAP accounting policies.

• Ideally three years or more of work experience in accounting/financial reporting (insurance business is advantage)
• Qualification in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
• ACCA certification or equivalent is advantage (training support provided)
• Profound knowledge of statutory accounting policies and regulatory frameworks
• Understanding of financial reporting processes, risk and controls
• Experience with accounting under IFRS/US GAAP is advantage
• Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting
• Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Good interpersonal skills
• Engaged and motivated, adaptability and flexibility
• Structured and independent work approach and strong analytical skills
• Fluent English written and spoken
• Additional languages (German/French) an advantage
