Job description, responsibilities and duties

As DevOps engineer you'll be part of a highly motivated tech team that is responsible for building high-quality public cloud applications by applying agile architecture principles.

Your responsibilities

• Own the development of a highly automated CI/CD platform, ranging from development infrastructure tooling to reduce operational tasks to automated testing capabilities to reliable release and deployment strategies
• End-to-end engagement, from inception to production, in designing, deploying, operating and continuously improving high-availability services in the cloud
• Deliver high-quality solutions and deployment strategies, focusing on reliability, automation, maintainability and security in order to improve performance and fault-tolerance of new or existing services
• Drive and implement the infrastructure as code mantra within the team
• Focus on devising automatic metrics and logs collection, self-healing capabilities and other technical solutions to improve security and resilience of the infrastructure and avoiding incidents and problems from reoccurring
• Facilitate DevSecOps process improvement, challenging existing practices and driving ideas and solutions that promote better ways of working

About the team

The Elevate incubator team has been established to bring simplicity and efficiency to our clients, brokers and colleagues through innovative use of data and technology. Customers will experience products and a customer journey that is consistent, easier to understand and reliable.

To achieve this bold goal we are building up a dedicated incubator squad - a small start-up within the company.

This new initiative has a global span, rolling out in the US and Europe first and will continue to grow in the coming years.

What we look for

• Vast experience in public cloud services, preferably Azure, DevOps and CI/CD
• Hands-on experience in delivering highly distributed, high-complexity concurrent systems
• Understanding of the implications and the trade-offs of different solutions with regards to performance, reliability, availability and security
• Solid experience with cloud computing platforms (particularly Azure), applications containerization/orchestration (Docker, AKS), configuration management (Terraform, ARM) and implementing continuous development, delivery and deployment solutions (Azure DevOps is preferred).
• Strong problem-solving mindset and collaborative approach to incidents mitigation, triage and resolution
• Experience in software engineering in any modern language (C#) is a plus
• Proficient in English
