As the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead iptiQ APAC, you will drive several financial functions including finalising US GAAP and our proprietary Economic Value Management (EVM) results, planning, cost analysis, projections and special projects.

You will:

• Prepare and consolidate financial plans and forecasts for APAC
• Facilitate the planning process by cooperating with teams from entities under APAC. Prepare all materials for the 3-year business Plan, 10-year ambition and calculate the Key Performance Indicators
• Review submissions from the operating entities (OEs) and Group functions. Oversee related systems and processes for projections and facilitate improvements over time, particularly with respect to accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure EVM reporting is compiled properly and finalise related materials; oversee controls, prepare reporting materials and provide training for entity submissions
• Build business cases for growth and evaluate transactions
• Analyse the performance of our start-up in China and APAC including preparing cost reports, analysing cost targets, collaborating with our Divisional Cost Controller and estimating cost allocations
• Analyse results vs. targets and support the CEO iptiQ APAC in steering APAC towards its financial ambitions
• Ensure accurate and forward-looking reporting of our legal entities in China
• Propose ideas for improvements
• Visualise data in Microsoft Power BI or other applications and automate our processes
• Analyse the financials of potential M&A opportunities
• Ensure good governance, coordinate the execution of new financial platforms and improve our finance processes
• Seek the advice of central finance units
• Deputise the regional CFO
• Ad hoc tasks required.

About the Team

You will report to and work directly with me, the CFO iptiQ APAC. I am based in Hong Kong along with one more colleague. Our virtual and global team has two other members in Bratislava, another member in Sydney and related units in Shanghai.

We love accurate numbers, foster openness and balance the needs of multiple clients! Compliance with the spirit and letter of accounting rules is a must. Personality requirements and skills

You have:

• Experience of 5-10 years in insurance finance, preferably in financial planning and analysis
• Qualified membership of an internationally recognised Accounting / Actuarial body (preferred)
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial or Computer Science
• Detailed knowledge of US GAAP and Swiss Re EVM
• Experience in applying accounting, regulatory and compliance standards. Knowledge of primary insurance industry products and an understanding of actuarial, accounting, information systems and investments
• Passionate about accurate numbers
• Comfortable communicating with others and to consider alternative points of view with an open mind
• Well organised and able to coordinate inputs and processes across a sophisticated organisation on your own
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent command in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; Python is a plus
• Patience and willingness to go above and beyond.
