Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Senior Reporting Professional is a member of the Global Investment Reporting Team. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert and use his/her skills to provide analysis and requirements of Investment Accounting and Reporting in support of the upcoming ATLAS IETV prototype, parallel and general ledger roll-in waves. The candidate will have extensive knowledge of investment products and a strong understanding of relevant accounting principles, across all valuations (US GAAP, EVM, Swiss STAT, IFRS, and others)

Key Accountabilities:

• Critically assess and examine the current accounting & reporting processes and deliverables and propose areas for improvement and optimization for the future target state
• Develop a solid understanding of data flow, system landscapes and system interactions impacting accounting transactions under relevant valuations and provide insight that helps to ensure a smooth flow of information through the accounting & reporting life cycle
• Strong contribution to the various stages of IETV prototype, parallel, and general ledger roll-in waves, while ensuring global alignment of all investment accounting and reporting processes
• Coordinate the daily operations of 3rd party outsourcing provider contracted for the roll-in team
• Work hand in hand with the ATLAS IETV Business analysts to ensure Investment Reporting's requirements are translated into delivered products
• Ensure best practice methods and analysis tools are utilized
• Anticipate issues and develop appropriate and timely solutions and provide decision relevant input
• Contribute to building stakeholder understanding and engagement on the future target state, including training the remaining Investment Reporting team across all locations

About the Team

The Global Investment Reporting team has the ownership of the Investment Financial Accounting sub-ledger for investments for all valuations and related reporting deliverables, across different locations. Swiss Re Reinsurance Finance is implementing a new system and process environment to support the financial closing for the Reinsurance business through the ATLAS Programme. GIR is expected to heavily contribute and drive the tactical and strategic solutions in order to reach the target state.
The role will sit in the Investment Accounting and Reporting team.

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 3 years have been in the area of investments
• University degree with emphasis in Accounting and/or Finance
• Solid financial acumen and understanding of multi-valuation concept (US GAAP, Statutory & Regulatory, EVM, IFRS, Tax Reporting)
• Pro-active, forward looking mind set and high quality delivery focus
• Global perspective and project-oriented mindset
• Team player with a high degree of personal accountability
• High level of interest in learning new technologies
