iptiQ EMEA is a Luxembourg based insurer with Branches in UK, Ireland, Germany, France and the Netherlands.

About the Role

Reporting to a Senior Pricing Actuary in one of our core locations, you will support the Data Analysis Excellence part of iptiQ's Life and Health Pricing Team.

The Pricing team consists of 12 colleagues based across 5 locations in Europe with expansion plans. We are responsible for the design of life & health products and the setting of customer premiums as well as ongoing monitoring and profitability reviews.

With the support of a wide range of Swiss Re experts, you will help the team grow presence in the EMEA markets, securing new distribution partnerships and building innovative product solutions. You will support all aspects of the pricing and actuarial product development of new protection products through data analysis, portfolio monitoring and dissemination of key information.

Your main responsibilities:

• Analyze business performance of open portfolios
• Create and enhance Management Information reports to share with the wider business
• Manage various data sources, cleaning and shaping the available information to glean useful business insight
• Support the maintenance of our costing basis through investigations and analysis
• Build and develop models and tools to assist with monitoring and costing processes
• Support the building of new processes including preparing auditable documentation
• Assist the production of existing business profitability reviews and portfolio analysis
• Help to set-up automated tools to report profitability
• Work with the wider team on ad-hoc analytical/data science projects
• Investigate and develop statistical techniques to help us improve the accuracy and efficiency of our modelling and
• Assist with business planning and projections

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

We expect you to:

• Hold graduate level qualifications in a numerical and analytical field or otherwise demonstrate solid skills in these areas
• Have at least 2-3 years professional experience gained in an analytical role
• Be proficient in R or other programming languages
• Be proficient in MS Excel
• Have a strong interest in Data Science and might have some experience running exploratory projects
• Demonstrate accuracy and commitment to quality
• Show integrity and consumer awareness
• Prior experience in insurance related field is advantage
• Have an excellent command of English, other European languages (German, French, Spanish or Dutch)
