Job description, responsibilities and duties
The SAP General Ledger is part of the financial accounting and reporting platform introduced in a multi-year innovation program, redefining and harmonizing the technology and operating model for all Swiss Re Business Units.
As squad member and deputy product owner, you will build and operate the SAP General Ledger (GL) on SAP FI-CO, SAP S/4 Finance to enable the successful and timely execution of the global financial closing processes. Being part of the team, you will work hands-on with the latest SAP S/4 HANA technology based on an Azure Cloud hosted environment and grow into the responsibilities of the product owner. In this leadership position, you will assume ownership for customer interactions and accurate reflection of requirements and priorities within the product backlog. The role is located in Bratislava.
Your responsibilities encompass:
- Extend, improve and automate financial closing processes based on SAP GL functionalities
- Ownership of product roadmap, prioritization of work and communication of goals
- Support the Global Quarterly Financial Closing Activities within SAP GL
- Management of all SAP GL related activities such as Change Management, Operations and Development Work
- Act as main contact for the Financial Accounting and Reporting Organizations
- Communicate and build transparency on delivery timelines, dependencies and develop cross-functional solutions jointly with other squads

The SAP GL Closing team is operating as a squad within a fully agile DevOps operating model with end-to-end responsibility (development & change management along the full life cycle) for the product. Being dedicated to a "leadership from every seat" mentality, the team jointly owns the quality and success of the closing processes. The SAP GL functionalities are key to deliver the financial statements for both internal and external reporting requirements. In order to ensure that the General Ledger Product meets the expectations of the business, the team is collaborating closely with all partners to ensure short feedback cycles and continuous improvements of functionalities.
