Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for an ambitious reserving actuary to join our team in performing quarterly actuarial P&C reserve calculations. In this role you will have a great opportunity to apply your technical actuarial, modelling and data analytics skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below.

The role offers the opportunity for out of the box thinking, working on solutions to a broad range of challenges. You will interact collaboratively with Life and Health colleagues from the team and with specialists throughout the iptiQ Division and the Swiss Re Group.

• You will work with an actuarial reserving tool, apply the various actuarial reserving methods and decide on the most appropriate reserves for the financial accounts for all required reserving bases.
• You will challenge costing accuracy, contribute to reporting and build a deep understanding of all portfolios of iptiQ EMEA P&C
• You ensure that the overall calculations are comprehensive, complete and well understood
• You regularly interact with other functions such as Underwriting, Claims, Technical Accounting and Finance as well as with senior management and build trustful long-term relationships
• You will also regularly contribute to actuarial-related projects and systems development.
• You will also calculate the IBNR for short duration business within the iptiQ L&H entities giving you the unique opportunity to gain understanding of L&H business as well as P&C
• We encourage pursuing the actuarial qualification with one of the major actuarial societies

IpitQ is an exciting B2B2C business, a growing and expanding SwissRe business whose vision is to protect more people and their families by making insurance easier and more engaging. Simple insurance solutions in partnership with people's favorite brands.

The iptiQ Valuation Operations Team is a newly formed dynamic actuarial team, utilizing the latest cloud-based infrastructure technologies, within a changing environment.

The main responsibilities of the team lay in the valuation and reserving of the business for all iptiQ entities and in the development and maintenance of the underlying actuarial models while challenging the traditional approaches to actuarial controls and processes.

• A University degree in actuarial science, mathematics or related subjects
• At least 3 years of professional-level experience in Insurance or Reinsurance
• Knowledge of standard non-life actuarial reserving models
• Very strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• A healthy level of attention to detail
