Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this Business Manager role you are part of a central team of Business Managers supporting our HR leadership team, with two main areas of duty:

1) You work closely with the Department Heads, ensuring coordination of HR processes and projects, manage People metrics and manage financials

2) You collaborate with Product owners of the HR Business Management team to deliver and develop key services to internal and external clients on topics that affect HR on a divisional (all of HR) level

Your key responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate processes and manage and consult on project portfolio
• Support delivery of strategic projects and initiatives
• Prepare decks relevant for regular executive meetings such as the Management Team, Management Committee, and the Board of Directors
• Lead production of monthly 'factbook' of HR data, provide quarterly HR Department KPI metric updates and divisional/regional analysis, plus ad-hoc data requests from the business
• Create management insights / KPI's that support HR Departments to identify messaging and key future target areas for focus in collaboration with Group HR
• Subject matter expert on Group HR cost centers budgeting, financial planning, cost tracking and controlling, accountable to manage transactional activities in DBM and reporting
• Consult on HR wide strategy & planning activities (e.g. gather data points, create a concept, stakeholder specific reporting and messaging)
• Manage cost center budgeting, financial planning, cost tracking and controlling, accountable to manage transactional activities in the finance platform and reporting
• Support with ad hoc requests and initiatives, including various Group HR processes needing co-ordination
• Keep track of Reward risk management landscape and make sure issues are properly collected and that the appropriate policies are implemented

About the Team

We are a small and dynamic team which supports senior HR leaders to run HR as a commercial, compliant and engaged function with discipline, rigor and commercial awareness.
In the mandate we deal with strategy and planning, financial management, project portfolio governance, community building, risk management and the support of HR leaders. The broad range of responsibilities gives an unusual insight and enabling a holistic approach.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

Personality requirements and skills

• 3 to 5 years' experience in Consulting or Project Manager or similar role covering one or more areas such as Finance or Consultancy
• Project Management skills required
• Experienced with agile methodologies is a big advantage
• Ability to drive continuous improvements and think outside of the box
• Advanced analytical skills to build a compelling story or business case
• Comfortable with ambiguity and shown success in working in a highly matrixed environment
• Demonstrate ability to build and manage relationships across the hierarchies
• Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information and situations
• Strong influencing and social skills including operating across cultural boundaries
• High level of integrity, trustworthiness and stress resistance
• Demonstrate a collaborative approach using teamwork across organisations
• Highly flexible, engaged and accountable
• Strong communicator in English (verbal and written) and able to convince people
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, savvy learner of new tools

Other activities/accountabilities that may be required from Employee:
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by Supervisor
• Provide cover for roles in other Business Manager roles
• Any other ad hoc tasks as required from time to time
• Some travel to Swiss Re locations is required
