Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Business Continuity and Resilience Coordinator reports directly to the Group Business Continuity Manager.
Main work activities cover general support on execution, maintenance and testing of Swiss Re’s Business Continuity Management (BCM). Delivering on new initiatives designed to strengthen our operating model covering BCM and Operational Resilience.

About the Role
- Carry out a detailed annual review of Business Continuity Plans, ensuring their compliance with our BCM Policy
- Provide guidance and support to location Business Continuity Managers in developing and maintaining their preparedness plans
- Interact with location BC representatives to identify, discuss and resolve local issues, provide general support daily and train new team members in our office locations
- Re-enforce and promote adherence to relevant policies and standards (e.g. BCM and Operational Resilience)
- Help author and update frameworks, policies, and guidelines on BCM and Operational Resilience topics
- Support local Incident Management Teams and take an active part during actual incidents and business disruptions
- Become proficient with the Group Security tools (e.g. BC planning tool, emergency mass notification tool, etc) and maintain user training and general support
- Evaluate incidents, disruptions and suggest lessons learned/areas of improvement
- Follow up on open issues, test results and lessons learned and manage related reporting activities
- Conduct risk based on-site reviews of Swiss Re locations if needed
- Oversee developments in the risk landscape and assist locations in developing mitigation strategies

- Experience in formulating BC programmes would be an advantage
- Strong English skills, both verbal and written;
- A certification by a professional organization in business continuity;
- Understanding of digital technologies, e.g. mobile apps, mass notification and training tools would be beneficial
- Experience in incident management (exercises and real incidents), including use of respective tools
- A good ability to visualise and explain issues to wider audiences, at all levels
- High competence working with the MS Office Suite
- Planning and project management experience would be an advantage
- Ability to travel if needed
