Job description, responsibilities and duties

This role requires working with clients across the globe to analyse their requirements and translate business processes into functional and technical specifications, covering all aspects of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.

In this role you will:
- Collaborate with various partners to define new processes, develop data models, drive the information governance frameworks to manage and improve data quality.
- Own and handle incidents, problems and change requests for the data assets under your ownership.
- Define and perform data quality checks and follow-up with data owners for resolution.
- Support software releases, including communication with clients and other interfacing applications/teams, coordination of user testing and trainings. Incorporate their feedback into the product backlog for constant improvements.
- Ensure smooth teamwork between business requestors and the MDM engineers

About the Team

We are a team of experienced business analysts and software engineers, spread across multiple locations around the globe, owning the MDM function at Swiss Re. We are responsible for driving all stages of software development including business analysis, solution design, development, testing, roll-out and operational management for nearly 1000 master and reference data sets. We are the main contact for our internal clients and business partners in regards to the MDM processes and knowledge.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- A bachelor's degree in information management, computer science or equal, with over 3+ years of working experience as Business Analyst or Functional Specialist, preferably in a data function.
- Great interpersonal skills and a good grasp of the English language (spoken and written)
- Problem solving comes naturally to you. With your strong analytical skills, you consider multiple dimensions and perspectives before arriving at the most optimum solutions to the challenge at hand.
- You have strong data modelling expertise and are proficient in SQL for Oracle/MS-SQL databases to perform data analysis. Working experience with Web Services (REST/SOAP) is a bonus.
- It is an added benefit if you have worked in a MDM team/function before. Knowledge of TIBCO Orchestra EBX MDM is a huge bonus!
- A phenomenal teammate, with years of experience working in an agile software development environment (SCRUM).
