Job description, responsibilities and duties

Are you a self-motivated, energetic and seasoned leader? Does your commercial insurance background enable you to further evolve our high energy team?

If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity for you in our regional operations services team. In this regional role the main responsibility is to ensure delivery of operations services. These include various centralized services, underwriting support, technical accounting and claims operations. Your team is delivering critical services to market facing teams across the EMEA region. Transactional services have been centralized with an external partner. You will be taking a key role in managing this relationship. Helping us to maintain process adherence, service levels and meeting key performance indicators.



In this role you will report directly to the EMEA COO and you will be working closely with local operations managers across EMEA, regional and global business process managers and regional practice leads. We are looking to constantly challenge the status quo. Streamlining, harmonizing and continuously improving processes and operating models give you energy. This requires in-depth knowledge of processes and systems we use in EMEA.

We believe in teamwork and are looking for someone that integrates well as you will be partnering with a broad network of experts and senior stakeholders. A service mindset will be key as well as finding the right balance of being tactical and strategic. As we are in a dynamic and changing environment we are constantly evolving our operating model. This requires you to be an advocate for change and motivating teams to join our journey in Corporate Solutions and Operations.

Main activities
1. Delivery of operations services:

- An operations expert in commercial insurance who drives seaming less service delivery
- Ensuring service delivery within agreed SLAs meeting or exceeding key performance indicators
- Ensuring that teams are organized and resourced appropriately with the right skills to deliver to the expectations
- Drive decisions by data and facts
- Support the further build out of appropriate metrics and performance monitoring dashboards
- Driving operational risk management activities which includes related key controls and quarterly risk assessment for the department
- Being a key contact and subject matter expert for audits being performed


2. Endorsing continue improvements:

- Drive efficiency improvements across all technical accounting, underwriting support and claims operations aspects, whether through technology, process or organizational proposals
- Helping us to drive towards global process harmonization with local deviations were necessary
- Leading our functional operations teams through the conversation of becoming "one" regional team of experts with a results-oriented focus
- Implementing strategic and tactical initiatives to deliver key priorities.
-Addressing short term, tactical or future strategic ambitions of Corporate Solutions.
- Participate and contribute in project work and special tasks
- Perform any other ad hoc activities as requested by management


3. Leadership responsibility:

Personality requirements and skills

You have a high tolerance of ambiguity and track record of Operations management in a primary insurance company. Preferably in corporate insurance. Superior experience in change management, stakeholder management and managing external service providers. Experience in facilitating different levels of conversations as a strong communicator will help you to ensure high quality service delivery as well as leading through future changes. You enjoy problem solving, are very structured, detail oriented, build up own knowledge and expertise in a topic systematically, gather facts and build consensus. You are proficient in engaging at senior management level, are a highly self-motivated, dedicated individual that is comfortable in dealing with different counterparts and cultures.

Essential:
- At least 5 years of experience in similar position ideally within a primary insurance company or within an insurance broking organisation
- Secondary Education (master or bachelor's degree) in Economics with specialization in Insurance or Finance
- Proven track record in end to end operations management with in depth knowledge in business services, underwriting processes, claims processing and technical accounting
- Proven ability to drive process efficiencies in an effective way
- Passionate about people development and talent management
- Language skills: English fluent written and spoken, any other European language is an advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to influence people and gain buy in to new ideas
- Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills and assertiveness
- Strong ethical and behavioural values
- Ability to adapt to changes and implement them accordingly
- Keen interest in global cooperation and multicultural working environment
- Strong service and client-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated of being a change advocate


Desired:
- Other European languages are a plus
- Lean, Business Process Management or Six Sigma certification
