Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Corporate Solutions GLAS Team is responsible for supporting the European & Asian branches of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd and Swiss Re International SE with accounting, controlling and reporting activities. All is done according to internal guidelines and different accounting valuations including US GAAP accounting policies, local branch accounting policies and local tax requirements. You seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide timely and accurate legal entity and branch accounting, controlling and reporting tasks according to internal guidelines, regulatory and Group requirements, including closing and reporting of defined entities
Ensure the completion of monthly/quarterly/annual GL accounts for assigned entities and branches
Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
Own and approve balance sheet reconciliation processes where not controlled by other Finance teams
Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
Act as focal point for audit activities and review requested information
Drive policy reviews / settings and process improvements
Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities


Other

Provide cover for other roles in the team
Any other ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

- University degree in the area of finance, accounting, economics or similar
- 2-3 years of work experience in accounting / financial reporting
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic understanding of financial reporting processes, risk and controls
- Experience in USGAAP, IFRS or different valuations is an advantage
- Adherence to deadlines and ability to work on own initiative and under time pressure
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Experience in SAP is an advantage
Good comprehension of MS Office
