Our Underwriting support team is looking for a new colleague interested in underwriting business.

Underwriting, essentially the individual assessment of medical and financial risk for life cover applicants, is a core strength of Swiss Re. Your role as an underwriter based in Bratislava will be to support all the activities of our teams based in the major cities across Europe. Following a period of intensive training, you will use our world leading underwriting manual and will be supported by senior colleagues and experts in order to make recommendations on life&health risks referred to Swiss Re by insurance companies. As your skills grow, you will also participate in other services which we provide to our clients, including product development, training material preparation and delivery, occasionally also translation.

In L&H Underwriting team your tasks will be

-Registration of underwriting cases via our administrative system
-Assessment of medical and financial documents (blood tests, cardiovascular reports… and accounting documents) to establish a recommendation with the help of our underwriting tool and Medical Officers
-Preparation and/or onsite support for client facing activities, such as trainings and audits
-Support for translation of our underwriting-related tools

About the Team
We are building a dynamic team of underwriters who support several markets across the EMEA region on the business side, including cases assessment and various client needs. We work closely with regional and cross-functional partners.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and Italian - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

-University degree ideally from medical, finance or foreign languages studies
-You are advanced in English and Italian language
-You bring analytical and critical thinking as well as interest in learning new skills
-You are flexible and able to prioritize the diverse demands of various partners
-You possess good interpersonal skills and are able to engage with your colleagues across different business functions.
