Job description, responsibilities and duties

Are you a University student and do you want to work part-time in IT? We have an opportunity for you to join our international Datawarehouse (DWH) team and work on interesting projects with experienced colleagues.

In our Group DWH project, we encounter a lot of interesting changes and problems and we want you to help us with business analysis and documentation.

Your role will be to carry out business analysis – in cooperation with DWH team – understand the existing solution (written in SQL) and work on enhancing the documentation. You will have opportunities to work on strategic part of Datawarehouse.

What will you do in detail?
Use SQL to analyze DWH data and Datamarts
Extend existing documentation
Use cutting edge tools – Oracle 12 C; running in Private Cloud
Assist in resolving defects that occur in DWH product
Collaborate directly with clients from Swiss Re offices all around the world
Learn about the work environment of DWH in a global, corporate environment
You will be part of Agile team working in Scrum set up

About our team
We (Datawarehouse team) are responsible for integration of data from different Swiss Re source systems. On the other end we provide reporting solution serving as one of the key elements in decision making. Our DWH provide core information about Life & Health and Property & Casualty reinsurance as well as about direct insurance. We are constantly working on building stronger Datawarehouse team. In this role you will mostly focus on analysing and understanding the data and enhancing the documentation. Are you passionate about data and business analysis?

University student

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

You are a university student in the 4th or 5th grade of your studies
You will mostly work with Oracle so knowledge of SQL is a must. Prior experience with data modeling tools like PowerDesigner is plus, but not necessary
Would be great if you have the ability to understand the data and derive business meaning out of them
You are willing to learn new things, be it in technological or business area
You enjoy interacting with people
You like to understand problems and work to some degree independently on solutions
You do not hesitate to ask when you need help or explanation
You like working in an intercultural and international team environment
You enjoy talking and writing in English at work
