About the Role

As leader fo the team you will be responsible for:
- Lead and coordinate the Branch Controlling team, liaising and coordinating with other Finance teams, Tax, internal and external auditors
- Oversee legal entity and branch accounting and reporting activities in scope of the Branch Controlling team, including closing and reporting of defined branches according to local statutory, regulatory and management requirements
- Perform financial controlling of selected entities with focus on statutory and group requirements (payable/receivable signoffs, local statutory vs. group reporting reconciliations, closing notes and related tasks)
- Monitor calculation and accounting of the team for manual adjustments for local statutory, Luxembourg and US GAAP valuation
- Ensure that meaningful and accurate financial information is provided to the (branch) management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
- Oversee the financial reporting to local tax teams
- Manage and mitigate financial reporting risks, through account reconciliation, balance sheet substantiation and other appropriate measures
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements, update controls as required
- Support and coordinate internal and external audit activities and prepare requested information
- Support related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
- Identify, evaluate improvement possibilities for the team and coordinate implementation of respective measures
- Lead and develop the team effectively

About the Team
The Corporate Solutions Branch Controlling is responsible for supporting the European & Asian branches of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd and Swiss Re International SE with accounting, controlling, financial analysis and reporting according to local statutory, Luxembourg and US GAAP accounting policies and compliance with local tax requirements. As leader of the team you are responsible for the management and coordination of the Branch Controlling team and ensure that the respective services are provided in the quality levels and timeline agreed with the stakeholders. You provide hands-on support when required, but also seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.

Personality requirements and skills

About You
- Five to ten years of work experience in a Finance function, preferably in insurance or other financial services sector
- Qualification in Accounting, Audit and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
- Profound knowledge regarding statutory accounting policies and regulatory frameworks
- Proven skills in a leadership position
- Experience in USGAAP/IFRS desirable
- Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Team player with good communication skills
- Engaging and motivating
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Additionally, command in one or multiple of the following languages an advantage: German/Italian/French
