About the Role
Are you a data engineer ready to support our digital transformation? Are you hardworking and do you excel in data modelling, data transformation and data governance and understand how this can accelerate, automate and improve the quality of finance and operations processes? Are you passionate about interacting with people across Swiss Re on a range of projects?
Then you might be the person we are seeking!

We are looking for the right person to join the Finance Group Operations Digital & Analytics team and help us to harness digital technology and analytics to transform the efficiency and quality of what we do and to introduce new insights to help the businesses that we support. In your role you will have the chance to:
• evolve the “data factory” in support of the “digital future” of Finance Group Operations (“FGO”)
• design, build and maintain end-to-end data solutions supporting our processes
• transform data flows and build integrated data marts
• identify and help to design the right data architecture
• shape and contribute to appropriate data governance along the whole data lifecycle
• monitor and help improve data quality
• define and build analytics solutions including dashboards
• collaborate closely with our IT partners
You will work with the team colleagues in Zurich as well as colleagues and stakeholders globally.

About the Team
Finance Group Operations, has a total of 150 people and looks after and reports on the cost and cash management of the whole of Swiss Re as well the performance of Group Operations. Digital & Analytics are a new, growing team of 5 people based in Zurich and Bratislava, part of FGO, with the key responsibilities to:
• Devise and maintain the "Digital Future State" for FGO, including technology and data architecture
• Run data visualization and analytics solutions that help the rest of FGO
• Help FGO teams to devise technology solutions to improve their processes and coordinate their implementation.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

You have 3-5 years of data engineering experience in a finance or operations context, or similar role including one or more of:
• Implementation of data analytics solutions
• implementation of visualization dashboard reporting
• implementation of robotic process automation
• implementation of advanced / machine learning based automation e.g. using R or Python
• data integration and / or generation of new data repositories
• other digital technology projects e.g. Blockchain; IoT; Machine Learning

You should also be able to show that you are able to:
• interact with colleagues from IT, business and enterprise architecture
• create compelling presentations
• appropriately document your solutions
• be an outstanding teammate
• work in English

And, that you have:
• export knowledge on SQL and ETL tools
• knowledge of Azure Data solutions (such as ADF, DWH) or related
• experience defining and building conceptual, logical and physical data architectures
• proficiency in data visualization tools such as MS PowerBI and Tableau preferable
You will also hold a university degree or a relevant professional qualification. It is preferable if you have functional knowledge of SAP, including SAP4HANA, and ServiceNow.
