Job description, responsibilities and duties

For our technology team we are seeking an experienced financial controller who brings process mindset to plan and track spend against contract and project.

Role requirements:
We are looking for a forward-thinking and innovative self-starter to undertake this key support role for one of Swiss Re's pivotal initiatives.
- Take charge of the IT budget process from setting budget to tracking actuals and reporting aggregated spend data
- Contract management to maintain accurate spend position and set accruals
- Collate, review and ensure budget reporting and coordination across multiple projects
- Coordinate external vendor reporting to track spending against budget, and capacity against demand
- Oversee invoice handling process through an accounts payable team and compare received and processed invoices with contracted agreements and projections
- Handle day-to-day queries and issues relating to vendor management and invoice handling, ensuring they are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner
- Manage own workload effectively to achieve agreed service/ business standards

We are searching for an upbeat, positive individual who will be acting as a coordination point for a variety of topics and coordinate requests from internal and external partners. You should be a teammate with solid organization skills and ability to make plans, IT know-how, liaising with all management levels and ensuring that logistics are well executed!
- You are proficient in English, demonstrating a clear and articulate standard of written and verbal communication
- Experience of providing support to Senior Management from both a budget & FTE coordination perspective
- You have experience of working with and implementing structures, frameworks and tools
- You are Ambitious, highly organized and efficient, setting adequate priorities with a can do and proactive attitude
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- You are autonomous and cope effectively with multi-task work situations as well as to work independently and to work under pressure also in a virtual environment
- You feel comfortable in an area that is fluid and developing with priorities that change rapidly
- You are committed to quality, attention to detail and are solution oriented; persistent and thorough
- You are proficient in MS Office, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint and advanced Excel is important; you have experience working with Confluence and other digital collaboration tools, or are eager to learn it.
- You bring some familiarity with business contracts and Legal knowledge
