Do programming and security questions, new adversarial approaches, and technical solutions to adversarial attacks excite you? For our security programme, we are rapidly growing our Chief Security Officer organisation to support Swiss Re in continuously challenging and thus strengthening the protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client data, intellectual property, and IT assets.

For this service we are looking for very experienced programming (with a security flavour) enthusiasts with phenomenal technical skills and has constant eagerness to learn and a willingness to broaden their knowledge in the areas of security penetration testing and red teaming. Our Team

You will be developing for the Chief Security Office (CSO) organisation. Your main customers will be the following functions:

The Monitoring team serves as the main contact for investigations related to hacking and malware, to understand the nature and cause of the threat, and to limit any impact or damage. They develop and run their tool suite consisting of SIEM integrated with multiple platforms and some labs.

Swiss Re's Red and Purple Team operations uses also a complex lab setup including a few applications in order to support their mission of assessing the maturity of the organisation's IT- and process landscape.

Organizationally embedded within a team that consists of developers you will have active projects between both security engineers, the defensive and the offensive security team!

Our goals:
- Continuously improve and develop the tools for cyber threats detection and analysis, as well as offensive security testing (safe breach) exercises that test resilience in the organisation.

Personality requirements and skills

Your responsibilities will include

- Develop, maintain, and enhance the team's threat detection capabilities by writing code, and integrating with existing products, as well as supplying key integration suggestions for improving the existing environments.
- Assist the defensive security analysts by automating repetitive tasks and improving the overall environment, consisting of forensic and malware analysis tools, threat hunting, search capabilities, log correlation and analysis, etc.
- Assist the Red teamers with infrastructure as code deployments, offensive tool development, and operational automation of safe breach testing tools.
- Collaborate with DevOps and be ready to deploy and run tools on the container platform as well as in the cloud infrastructures we are transitioning to.

Your skills

- Excellent knowledge of Python and good knowledge of two or more of Go, C, C#, C++, and shell scripting. Experience in an exotic programming language (e.g. Nim) is a plus
- Proficient in Windows internals topics, e.g. Windows API.
- Software testing experience.
- Strong in analytical and conceptual thinking, as well as documenting and talking about concepts and enjoy technical discussions.
- Able to understand and integrate different views and requirements and translate them into well-documented code.
- Hands-on working experience with Elasticsearch, SQL databases, Docker, and REST APIs.
- Both reliable and courageous in your ability to handle matters independently and have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in information, network, and computer security, also in cloud contexts and you are comfortable with operating in a regulated industry.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Git, Jenkins and CI/CD in general).
- Ability to learn about cloud concepts, services, integration, security aspects, as well as any new technologies.
- Experience with cloud services integration is a must (Azure, AWS, AliFinCloud, or others).
- Fluency in English is required, any other language is an asset for working across multinational teams.
