Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for Head of Business Services who would be leading and managing the existing Business Services teams supporting EMEA Client markets community.

You will be responsible to further build, strengthen and develop the teams, which provide services and support according to agreed responsibilities and along clearly defined process steps. Ensuring excellent service to stakeholders in terms of quality and timeliness and establishing strong cooperation within Swiss Re and with key partners will be crucial for you to succeed in this role!

Key accountabilities

- Be an upbeat and valuable member of the EMEA Business Services and Strategy & Operations (S&O) leadership teams
- Setting up strategy for respective Section in line with Reinsurance / EMEA / S&O strategy
- Leadership and development of leaders and the teams (30-40 employees)
- Close collaboration with the leaders of the other S&O teams
- Enhancing career, people and talent development
- Ensuring professional communication and collaboration with stakeholders
- Representing the teams towards the Client markets community and other functions in Bratislava and other locations across EMEA
- Fostering development of professional knowledge in Bratislava based Business Services team and ensure stabilization of the assigned teams, in accordance with processes and guidelines to achieve the required service quality level
- Continuous service and process improvement
- Aligning service offering across markets based on best practice
- Setting and achieving of team and individual targets based on defined metrics
- Ensuring effective allocation of resources and achieving productivity targets
- Performing appropriate activities to ensure strong reporting, quality and risk management
- Taking ownership for strategic initiatives and projects

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

- 5 years experience in a managerial / leadership position, leading several complex teams containing team leaders and specialists preferably in the area of shared services in the financial industry (e.g. banking, insurance) and in an international environment.
- Developing and leading large, complex teams is your passion
- Excellent communication skills (clear, transparent, convincing) and negotiation skills along with strong assertiveness
- Think globally and act strategically!
- Developing and implementing new concepts
- Strong ethical and behavioral values
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly and address them as appropriate
- Genuine interest in global partnership and multicultural and dynamic working environment
- Outstanding service and client orientation
- Strong focus on performance, targets and risk management activities
- Language skills: English fluent written and spoken
