About the Role
This is a maternity cover role for an Application Engineer who will maintain and support an application used by our chief investment team in their decision-making. The role contains the following responsibilities :
- Development and support the existing front office risk reporting framework and the planned replacement
- Design and implementation high quality business-focused technical solutions
- Liaise with our partners to capture requirements
- Provide out of hours support where required
On top of this you will also have a chance to interact with multiple applications within the Asset Management landscape.

Along with a creative mindset and interest in technology you meet the following :
-A degree in a technical field or shown experience in Information Technology is required
-You have significant working experience with -Python especially asynchronous programming (asyncio, etc...)
-You demonstrate good general Unix skills (system monitoring, ssh configuration, process control, shell scripting)
-You are able to work with issue tracking, source control and continuous integration tools
-You possess Good social skills with orientation on customers and flexible mindset
We would also welcome and value if you describe yourself the following statements:
-You understand general concepts of Financial Markets and financial instruments
-Experience with document-oriented databases, especially Mongo or Azure's Cosmos DB
-Experience with a relational database platform and practical knowledge of SQL
-Experience with business intelligence tools such as Business Objects and Tableau
-Demonstrable experience in all application tiers - user interface, client / server applications, backend processing and databases
-You can design and write effective unit and regression tests
-Web-based application development (HTML5, Angular, GWT, Node.js, TypeScript…)
-Experience with Web services (REST, WSDL, …)
-Understanding of data modelling concepts
-Experience of Excel and VBA
-Familiarity with agile frameworks and tooling (Scrum, Kanban)
Good command of English (both verbal and written) is required
