About the role
As the Senior Accountant iptiQ EMEA P&C in Bratislava, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.

General Accountability:
The iptiQ EMEA P&C Carrier Financial Operations team is responsible for supporting the Luxembourg insurance company and the European branches with accounting, controlling, financial analysis and reporting according to internal guidelines, Luxembourg and US GAAP accounting policies as well as local tax requirements. As member of the team you support in a first instance the build-up phase through the implementation of Finance systems, processes and controls. Afterwards you will support the team leader on complex accounting and reporting activities for the legal entity and branches. You seek possibilities to develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements. Your main customers are Finance iptiQ EMEA P&C, Swiss Re Group Finance and Taxes as well as internal and external Audit.

Responsibilities:
- Support the build-up phase of the Finance systems and processes for the legal entity and branches
- Provide timely and accurate legal entity and branch financial accounting, controlling and reporting tasks according to internal guidelines, regulatory and Group requirements, including closing and reporting of defined entities
- Ensure timely booking of accruals, payroll, fixed assets, tax bookings, intercompany recharges, and other non-technical accounting activities
- Support financial controlling of selected entities with focus on group requirements (payable/receivable signoff, reconciliations for the accounts under the ownership, and related tasks)
- Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
- Financial reporting to local tax teams
- Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
- Support audit activities and prepare requested information
- Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
- Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities
- Any other ad hoc tasks as required

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- Five to seven years of work experience in accounting
- Qualification in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
- CPA/ACCA certification or equivalent
- Work experience in the insurance industry is favorable
- Profound knowledge regarding accounting policies and regulatory frameworks
- Understanding of financial reporting processes, risk and controls
- Experience in USGAAP desirable
- Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting
- Shown PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Great teammate with good communication skills
- Engaged and motivated
- Fluent English written and spoken
- Additionally excellent command in French and / or German is an advantage
