About the role
You will be part of the FP&A Product Controlling team within Corporate Solutions, the direct insurance arm of Swiss Re. We are a team of eight spread over several locations in Switzerland, the US, Slovakia and Germany. Our mandate is both the global controlling of the technical result as well as analytics and business partnering with the Products & Global Markets (PGM) function on performance management, portfolio optimization and projects.

In this role you will support the financial analysis, reporting, projection and planning for Corporate Solutions. Specifically, you will be responsible for the weather, agriculture and possibly the event insurance business. You will also support the team to improve and align our performance reporting. This is a unique opportunity at the interface between Underwriting and Finance, with truly global responsibilities and substantial senior management interaction.

Position specific
• Lead the quarterly performance reporting and review (nominal, US GAAP and economic) for the assigned products, ensuring an efficient consolidation process and support financial variance analyses in close partnership with underwriting and finance teams across the world
• Implement new financial dashboards to drive KPI alignment, efficiency and relevance for business decisions
• Perform the above tasks with a high degree of autonomy and task ownership, working closely with all relevant partners and earning their trust
• Ensure applicable controls are adhered to and adapted to new requirements where necessary

Other
• Provide cover for the wider FP&A team during absences or vacancies
• Support other ad hoc tasks as required, especially regarding business analytics

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Personality requirements and skills

About You
• University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in finance/accounting/economics and with at least 3 years of work experience, ideally in the financial services or audit industry
• Previous FP&A or Controlling exposure desirable
• Experience in USGAAP / IFRS desirable
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"
• Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently
• Capable of building trust with all areas of the business in particular with the Primary Lead teams, Underwriting, Actuaries and Regional Finance
• Agile, curious and flexible, able to operate within a changing environment.
• Capable of building trust with all areas of the business including Actuarial and Finance colleagues
• Stress resilient, with the ability to work independently and a strong sense of prioritization
• Demonstrate personal accountability and task ownership for area of responsibility
• Excellent command of English is a requirement (spoken and written)
