Do you have deep accounting or audit knowledge, full financial statements and reporting process experience as well as strong analytical skills to enable you to provide valuable input and advice to a finance team? Main tasks/ Activities:

• Provide expertise during the implementation of strategic transactions and initiatives including ownership of the accounting and reporting assessment and decision making support
• Actively represent the team or take the lead in global working groups around complex projects, such as transition to IFRS or implementation of new subledgers or systems
• Play a significant role in the external or internal audit strategy and scoping discussions, contribution to the resolution of complex audit questions
• Support the team leaders and accounting experts to ensure quality and accuracy of financial information as well as owning the agreed remediation plan
• Establish strong base of local standards knowledge and drive implementation of the changes into the internal processes and systems including necessary trainings for the team and other stakeholders
• Together with the team leaders develop and coach a strong team of experts


About the Team

We are a Financial Reporting team based in Bratislava with the mandate to report legal entity financial information of non-reinsurance entities within EMEA region. Our activities include quarterly and annual closing, variance analysis, and the presentation of reporting packages and annual reports to Senior Finance Management and Boards of Directors.


We are now looking for a subject matter expert to complement our team. You will provide technical accounting and reporting advice to the team for their assigned legal entities according to the relevant accounting principles.

Personality requirements and skills

What are we looking for?
• 6+ years in Accounting or Audit with respective Accounting Qualification, ACCA or CPA
• Expert knowledge in relevant group and statutory accounting and reporting policies (US GAAP and /or IFRS required, other GAAPs an advantage)
• Proven experience with statutory reporting including the detailed knowledge of complex Annual Accounts, the audit process, and respective reporting to Committees and Boards
• Proven experience in decision support which includes development of proposals/solutions, stakeholder management and written & oral communication and presentations, with focus on accounting or reporting advisory and analysis
• Experience in coordinating teams and ability to influence in a complex, cross-functional and multi-location environment preferred
• Manages multiple priorities and competing demands. Acts resourcefully to ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality targets
• Ability to communicate adequately at the senior management level but equally to less experienced members of the team
• Analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output under tight deadlines and manage details without losing sight of the big picture and underlying business
• Ability to work independently, in a target-oriented environment
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), any other European language is a plus
