Job description, responsibilities and duties

You will have a unique and exciting opportunity to join us: a diverse and motivated team, committed to delivering value and innovative services together with our clients and partners in the primary insurance space.
You will build and lead all planning & controlling activities for iptiQ EMEA P&C, and will report to the operating entity's CFO. You will work closely across all functions in operating entity, as well as with Life Capital's Finance team.
Your responsibilities include:
• Build out over time tools for driver-based financial forecasting and planning – from revenues to expenses, cashflow income statement and balance sheet – for key financial statements and KPIs
• On this basis, support commercial negotiations, expense management, financial planning, carrier management, and M&A activities
• Analyse and support steering current and next years' financials by anticipating opportunities and challenges on key financial metrics, and proposing respective actions
• Set-up and run financial planning and forecasting processes and interfaces for the operating entity within the Life Capital framework
• In particular, develop the 3-year financial plan and the 1-year budget
• Define and run financial performance monitoring for the operating entity and it's' functions, in liaison with the Operations team (KPIs, recurring reports, ad-hoc analyses)
• Set-up and run respective performance monitoring processes and interfaces
• In particular, support regular performance reporting into Life Capital EC and BUC
• Lead the expense budget in a forward-looking manner
• Propose mid-term and more tactical expense management and improvement measures (direct and indirect cost), in close collaboration with other departments

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• between 5 to 10 years of professional experience in financial modelling, planning & analysis of cash flows, income statements and balance sheets
• experience in capital planning and legal entity planning, US GAAP, and some European statutory regimes
• independently minded and quantitative, analytical thinker, at the same time, an engaging consultant to the business owners, providing challenge and advice
• bring a deep understanding of primary P&C insurance, and its key financial and operational drivers
• entrepreneurial and able to demonstrate commercial acumen
• excellent team working skills
• able to clearly communicate with senior business leaders and project teams
• fluent in English
