You will join a high-powered Cost Operations team that maintains and administers the tools, reporting engines and processes that underpin the Swiss Re Group Cost consolidation. This role will require intensive collaboration within the Cost Planning team in Group Cost Management and will have significant stakeholder exposure across the divisional cost controlling community, with a large focus on the process governance, tool maintenance and production support for global cost management. Support with standard and ad hoc cost reporting can also be offered within this role.

This position will report to the Head Cost Planning in Bratislava and will have significant involvement with the Finance Transformation activities across the Group.

This is a rare opportunity to get a broad understanding of the operational management of a financial services firm. It will allow and require you to build a wide network across all Business Units and Group Functions. The combination of data-centric and people-centric process work is a unique platform from which to develop your management skills.

Main responsibilities:
• Cost Plan process management / tools / production support:
o Cost Projection process management: preparation of timelines, collaboration with key stakeholders (divisional cost controllers, finance managers) to identify and manage dependencies across the business
o Tools: Support in preparation of planning and projection tools, including TM1 Group-wide planning tools and Swiss Re cost system(s)
o Organizational changes: incorporation of structural changes to the business (cost center changes, budget shifts/moves)
o Production support: General point of contact for divisional cost controllers and divisional operating officers to deliver timely and accurate cost projections
• Reporting production: Assistance in production management reports, cost projections and execution of ad hoc reconciliations and analyses
• On-boarding / training: Introduction and support of new finance colleagues across the Business Units and Group Functions on cost management and tools

About the Team
The Cost Planning team consists of 4 colleagues including yourself, located in Bratislava and Zurich and is housed within a highly integrated Group Cost Management unit of 25 colleagues based in Bratislava and Zurich. We are part of Finance Group Operations, which in total has 140 colleagues.
Our main goal is to be the central point of contact for the divisions on any Service cost allocation related topic where we ensure close collaboration with the Division Heads, Divisional Executive Offices and Cost representatives such as Department and Cost Centre Heads.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• University degree, preferable in a finance related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Excellent MS Excel, and other Microsoft Office suite programs
• Familiarity with accounting terminology
• Ability to achieve precision alongside managing multiple topics under time pressure
• Ability to assess, understand and manage complex dependencies
• Cross-functional stakeholder management; stature and confidence to interact with staff across all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication skills and team player
• Ability to convey complicated information in a structured way
