About The Team

The Corporate Solutions Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team supports managing and steering the financial performance of the business unit Corporate Solutions and its regional management teams. This position will complete the new dedicated Economic Valuation Management (EVM) Production Team embedded in FP&A, to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the quarterly EVM financial statements. EVM is Swiss Re's integrated economic accounting and steering framework based on market consistent valuations, which measures value creation for all business activities at Swiss Re, also taking into consideration the time value of money. It allows us to see the connection between risk-taking and value creation and provides a consistent framework to evaluate the outcome of controlled risk-taking and capital allocation decisions throughout a performance cycle.

As a member of the team, we are looking for a highly motivated individual who will support the EVM production process. The team is mainly responsible for the quarterly production and validation of the EVM results. In this role, you will participate in the overall quarterly EVM production process, perform defined specific closing activities and engage with stakeholders, including the Consolidation and Reporting (C&R) Team as well as legal entity and regional CFOs. The candidate should ideally have an understanding of economic valuation principles/Swiss Re's EVM concept, as well as traditional re(insurance) and derivative business.

Working within the Finance Corporate Solution team, you will join a highly motivated and dynamic team within an interesting and complex environment and will get the opportunity to build up reporting, consolidation & analytical capabilities.

Key responsibilities
•Executing the production, review and submission of EVM financial statements and sensitivities, including cash flow and capital reconciliations
•Develop an advanced understanding of economic value measurement for underwriting and investment activities and understand the differences compared to traditional valuation approaches
•Preparation and review of EVM late adjustments/booking vouchers
•Ensure appropriate audit documentation and adequate internal controls are performed around EVM production and validation processes
•Support and collaborate with the EVM C&R team in all processes and deliverables related to the quarterly EVM close
•Support change analysis and functional specification implications from changes in the EVM methodology and subsequently implementing into the CorFACTS landscape
•Evolve in a multi-disciplinary environment and work closely with finance and risk management experts to produce EVM financial results
•Facilitate, plan, maintain and enhance EVM processes
•Own the way you work and have the possibility to make a difference
•The ability to perform the above tasks with a high degree of autonomy, while leveraging on and working closely with all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

About You
•University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent), preferably in economics/accounting with at least 3 years of relevant working experience in the Big 4 or in financial planning & analysis environment
•Previous experience in Finance essential
•Experience within the non-life insurance industry is an asset
•Strong ability to analyse and interpret financial data

Key skills and knowledge
•Excellent communication skills, ability to interact with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment and also independently
•Experience with process management and status tracking
•Excellent technical and analytical skills with holistic financial thinking and the ability to deliver high quality output to short deadlines
•Eagerness to learn and gain economic value management and finance reporting experience (if not already available)
•Ability to swiftly understand and grasp complex concepts and subjects
•Team player with strong communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
•Strong MS Office skills required
•Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
•Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
•Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
