Information about the position

Job description, responsibilities and duties

In this role you would be responsible for cost related accounting and reporting tasks relating to assigned entities including provision of information to other areas of the Swiss Re Group for tax and regulatory purposes. To include assistance with policy setting, operational improvement, identification and implementation.

Your job will include :
• Manage the accounting for and commit to the production of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts for assigned entities and branches
• Assisting with payroll, compensation and related benefits accounting and associated balance sheet entries and reconciliations where appropriate
• Accounting for accruals and prepayments for the respective entities
• Manage balance sheet reconciliation processes where not controlled by other Finance teams
• Coordinate the preparation of VAT reporting for VAT managers (including reconciliations)
• Assist with reporting for the various jurisdictions served by Finance
• Processing of end to end intercompany recharges and related activity, i.e. accounting for intercompany recharges in and recharges out and International Assignee accounting / processes in conjunction with the Intragroup Service Model team. All associated reconciliations
• Transactional level reporting to the business, assisting in policy setting and operational improvements
• Any other ad hoc tasks required

About the team:
The Non- Technical Accounting function started opererations in Bratislava back in 2009. Over the last seven years the function has grown to its current size with 25 professionals working in Bratislava. The entities which we manage are located in Europe, Africa and Asia. The group has diverse accounting experiences and perform closely together as one team handling quarterly accounting closes and projects, and we always have some fun.

Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• You have a University degree in the area of finance, accounting, economics or similar
• You posses some years of relevant experience as a Financial Accountant or similar
• You have very good comprehension of MS Office
• You bring excellent social and communication skills
• You have experience in SAP or Oracle is an advantage
• Your English is written and spoken
• Adherence to deadlines and ability to work on own initiative a requirement
• You bring advanced level on Microsoft Office (Excel - Pivot Tables, Word and PowerPoint)
