Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Asset Management (AM) function manages the assets that Swiss Re generates through its core insurance and reinsurance businesses. We do so using a robust asset-liability management process. In addition to matching assets and liabilities, our team optimizes risk-adjusted investment returns within defined risk limits. Our clients are the Business Units, Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions and Life Capital. Their portfolios are managed individually according to their needs and objectives. AM Business Services provides an efficient operating platform capable of supporting all financial market activities conducted by Swiss Re.
You will be part of Middle Office CIOO which supports the AM Chief Investment Office (CIO Office) in many processes and systems related areas. The team is supporting 4 groups including Asset Allocation, Portfolio Steering, Portfolio Analytics (including Investment Process, Quant Analysis) and Investment Strategy from an infrastructure perspective, data quality, validation as well as supporting teams with investment decisions. Middle Office works hand to hand with the CIO Office representatives to ensure day-to-day support of transactional activities is provided.
Your responsibilities are:
• Supporting CIOO Portfolio Analytics/Investment Process with daily data validations
• Supporting the implementation of new reporting/checks requirements from different groups within CIOO (with regards to Asset Classification process, reports' migration to Avalon, financial reports)
• Planning, creating and coordinating of run books for Asset transfers/Take-on/Take-of and maintaining Asset Transfer Policy
• Coordinating the projects of acquisitions and disposals of companies
• Maintaining the tree structure in UPH and support the implementation of requested changes in GreenPackage
• Supporting project management and project administration for Mandate Implementation
• Assisting in the smooth implementation of month-end changes requested by Investment Process
• Providing additional support to the other Middle Office teams when required
• Coordinating and providing support to the CIOO and the head of the MO CIOO team in audit related topics
• Initiating the review of various governance related tasks

3+ years' experience in a Finance/Controlling or Mid Office Financial Services environment required.
- Preferably good knowledge of Swiss Re landscape ideally with exposure to Asset Management, Finance or Treasury
- Fundamental and broad knowledge in financial instruments in general
- Project management/coordination skills needed
- Strong organizational and analytical skills required
- Team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to perform tasks independently
- Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to establish priorities, manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to deal with multi-tasking
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Very good command of English (spoken and written)
