Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Corporate Solutions Cost Controlling team leads the business unit's effort on non-technical expense planning, projection, and reporting, while also serving as a port-of-call for many expense related topics. We deliver timely and accurate information on cost development against targets in effort to hold teams accountable to budget and enable senior management to better steer the business.
The Cost Controlling Team is looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in working in a demanding and changing environment.
The position will enable the holder to gain in depth knowledge about administrative expenses at Swiss Re as well as the Corporate Solutions expense plans and how they are managed to support desired growth in a profitable manner.
This position will support Corporate Solutions Cost Controlling in all matters that relate to Corporate Solutions non-technical expenses
Core tasks include:
Reporting
• Prepare and distribute monthly expense reporting packages to senior management including commentary on variance drivers based on detailed ledger analysis of actual expenses reported compared to plan or latest projection
Planning
• Assist Corporate Solutions Cost Controller in developing and submitting a budget plan that is within the annual target established for the function by working closely with Global Cost Controlling, Human Resources, Corporate Solutions Cost Center Owners, FP&A Managers, and Corporate Solutions DOO/ CFO
• File quarterly projections reflecting latest expectations and needed adjustments
Service Cost Accounting / Other
• Support all ad-hoc requests related to Corporate Solutions non-technical expenses
• Maintain the organizational structure and signing authority related to the departments and global cost centers within the Corporate Solutions function
• Support Service Cost Accounting Activities
• Support Corporate Solutions Finance IT initiative (CorFiT) and other Finance projects as needed

o Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience (Cost Controlling / Cost Management / Financial Analysis)

o Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver quality output on short deadlines and manage details without losing site of the "big picture"
o Strong communication skills, in particular ability to summarize complex technical issues to a non-expert audience. Flexibility to work in both a collaborative team environment as well as independently
o Capable of building trust with all areas of the business
o Agile and flexible, ability to operate within a changing environment. Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and prioritize
o Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
o Stress resilient, with the ability to work independent
o Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word
o Ability to manage details without losing sight of the "big picture"
o Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
