Job description, responsibilities and duties
Testing Services supports all build and run activities within IT. Our team ensures the architectural fit and the end-to-end quality of in-house developed solutions, IT infrastructure and the technical integration of 3rd party solutions.
You are a sharp, experienced test automation engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a solid software development foundation. You are passionate about quality and interested in new technologies offered to our customers.
In this role you are responsible for testing of Swiss Re's business applications and infrastructure. On top of that you also contribute to our development teams on testing from unit up to end-to-end tests as well as applying and pushing DevOps principles.
Main Tasks:
• Delivering high quality QA services to the IT's projects; you will perform software tests for internal clients.
• You will design, plan, execute and automate tests for software across a variety of n-tier architectures and cutting-edge technologies.
• You will lead testing activities and also execute them together with our testing partners.
• Deploy Continuous Delivery / DevOps principles into your area of responsibility.
• Provide testing consultancy to development teams in regards of testing and software quality aspects.
• Provide 2nd level support for applied testing tools.
• You increase productivity by boosting the level of automation in the SDLC.
• To contribute up an active testing community at Swiss Re.

• A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.
• One or more years of Test Automation Engineer or Software Engineer in Test (SET) experience.
• Proven experience in writing test plans and test cases/-scenarios.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, coupled with analytical thinking.
• Experience programming in Java and/or C# and scripting.
• Hands on experience in test automation tools such as Selenium or TOSCA Testsuite and Continuous Integration.
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills with great attention to detail, including the ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the results.
• Good consulting and lateral leadership skills.
• Excellent command of English.
• Strong client service attitude & management skills.
• And of course: Enthusiasm for testing.
