Job description, responsibilities and duties

PURPOSE:
In this key Quality Assurance (QA), validation, and regulatory testing role, you will be a significant contributor towards the testing and validation of IQVIA clinical operations reporting and analytics products. These products form a major technical foundation block in IQVIA' overall strategy to deliver insight to its customers, and your contributions will be directly visible to the senior management team.
We are looking for an experienced tester of business intelligence solutions with understanding of data warehousing principles. Additionally, we are looking for team members who will ensure quality solutions are developed throughout the life cycle of our data oriented solutions and be responsible for ensuring regulatory validation and audits are attained. You will work with an integrated team of architects, designers, business analysts, data analysts, developers, and testers, creating reporting solutions.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Authors test cases for BI reporting applications within the scope of a broader defined testing strategy and is typically involved in test strategy development for projects and systems.
Authors test cases for BI reporting applications that integrate with larger computer systems and complex multi-system, and works with other members of the project team to gain necessary input and execute appropriate revisions to ensure accurate and complete software testing activities.
Executes test cases and logs/retests issues found.
Assists with coordination of user acceptance testing performed by business stakeholders.
Performs internal peer reviews of test cases from other Analysts prior to and following execution as required to ensure issues/errors with the test scripts are identified and resolved.
Participates in technical meetings with Business Analysts and Developers.
Leverages automated testing tools for test planning and management, test case authoring, test case execution and issue/defect tracking.
Performs review of deliverables produced by other members of the IT department throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle, for completeness and detail ensuring the specifications are of a high quality, meet regulatory requirements, and can be used to write test scripts.
Develops validation paperwork and maintains auditability of product documentation including requirements / use cases, validation reports, testing strategies, test cases, change, issue and risk management, regulatory change control, and more.
Possess a detailed understanding of the requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification process including user requirement specifications and functional specifications for larger, complex applications.
Reviews requirements specifications for testability and verifying/ensuring traceability of testing to requirements to design and vice versa.
Typically involved in the project-planning phase of a computer system and provides work estimates.
Reports status, progress and concerns in a proactive, consistent and accurate manner to senior team members and to the IT Project Manager directly or via the Testing Lead.
Performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree, and/or have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience and 1-2 years data analysis experience. Alternatively, extensive operational experience with clinical trial execution experience can be leveraged.
Motivated self-starter that possesses fine-tuned analytical skills and be very detail oriented.
Very strong knowledge/skills around test case creation and test execution; ability to create and execute test cases as part of broader testing strategy. Test case creation and execution would be for discreet portions or multiple portions of larger sized systems that are complex and may interface with other products.
Ability to author and execute test cases as well as to assist in authoring test plans and strategies and coordinate testing and testing assignments. Requires minimal technical instructions and guidance with complex tasks.
Solid understanding of the requirements elicitation, analysis, and specification process. Ability to perform primary testing role in review of requirements specifications for testability, in design review and in testing strategy reviews.
Demonstrate and articulate the application of logical, analytical thought to a testing issue.
Experience in Business Intelligence (BI) reports’ validation and testing
Experience with Tibco Spotfire BI reporting tool strongly desired
Very strong knowledge writing and executing SQL scripts
Strong understanding of Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence principles is highly desirable
Experience in the Healthcare Industry with a regulated Life Science / Contract Research Organization (CRO) a strong plus
Excellent oral/written interpersonal skills; user focused; work well with global team members. Strong technical and business writing skills.
Flexibility, ability to learn, and ability to work within in a collaborative fast-paced QA testing team environment
Solid understand of testing and validation strategies, practices in a healthcare regulated environment.
Familiarity with Quality Center ALM and testing automation, Jira, and TopTeam tools
Prior experience working with Agile/SCRUM methodologies a plus
Specific experience in CRO related solutions including CTMS, ODM, CDISC / SDTM, eDC, Safety, Lab systems is a strong plus
Strong ability to communicate technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences.
Strong relationship building and facilitation skills to work directly with business users who are not technical in nature.
Critical thinking abilities to take complex, ambiguous, abstract requirements and break them into smaller components, patterns, views and features.
