Information about the position
Job description, responsibilities and duties
Your tasks:
Main Contract with Client
• administration of the main construction contracts including managing risk of contractual obligations relating to the project
• ensure identification of standard and critical contractual/legal clauses to protect the interests of the company or the joint venture
• monitor correspondence with client and prepare contractual correspondence in accordance and cooperation with the Project Manager
• assess the contractual entitlement of potential claims and work out fully detailed claims & compare the on-going construction progress with contractually defined requirements and provisions and prepare contractual claims including extensions of time, prolongation cost, acceleration cost, and all other contractual claims
• communicate with client’s representatives, internal specialists and decision-makers as well as external technical, economical and judicial experts mainly on contractual matters such as delays, extension of time, variations and warranties
• preparation of variations based on provided data from the site including providing clarifications to the client’s representative
• maintain a system for recording of contractual documents (addendums/variations/instructions/claims)
• monitor and support legal issues related to construction projects such as handling of permits, procedures at commencement and completion of the project, etc.
Subcontracts
• negotiation of the contractual/legal subcontract conditions to ensure that the requirements of the Main Contract are appropriately reflected in the subcontract (back-to-back) and ensure that company’s contractual rights are protected.
• drafting the subcontracts (amending the existing platform) to reflect the conclusions of the negotiations with subcontractors
• advice and review of the drafts of the subcontracts prepared by the company’s internal lawyer
• handling the subcontractor’s claims, variations and preparing counterclaims
General

Information about the selection process
Our expectations:
• advanced knowledge of contract management and knowledge of execution of contracts under Slovak law
• knowledge of FIDIC contract schemes
• experience in drafting/redrafting the (sub)contracts
• experience in setting up and defending claims for extension of time and additional payment
• experience in execution and site management field is preferable.
• In addition to Slovak, excellent spoken and written communication skills in English are mandatory, in German is an advantage
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS- Excel, MS-Outlook etc.)
