Global Transport and Logistics Manager

Job Introduction
• Ensuring global transportation setup and operation for import and export worldwide
• profound knowledge of customs clearance and global trade compliance regulations
• efficiency and cost reduction in the area of warehouse- and global transport management
• Use of synergies and "best practice sharing" in the field of warehouse and global transport management
• Ensuring standardization and harmonization of supporting systems, processes and methods in the areas of warehouse and global transport management
• Development of new processes, tools and software applications

Major Responsibilities:
• Ensure smooth daily operation
• Leading warehouse and export team
• Negotiation and managing of all contracts with logistics service providers global and packaging suppliers
• Tender management as well as preparation of negotiation strategy and contract development
• Development of transport strategies and projects for all products and markets (sea, road, air and rail freight)
• Ensure continuous improvement processes by developing and implementing logistic concepts
• Optimize performance measurement structures (qualitative and quantitative) and KPI system management
• Benchmarking of freight rates, Market analysis and trend studies
• Development of processes in the area of warehouse management
• Relationship management with service providers
• Support for global plants and global customers in case of escalation
• Support forecasting and budget planning process

Knowledge and Education
• Completed technical or commercial education with a focus on logistics (Studies in the field of logistics or business management)

Work Experience
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in the area of warehouse management, global transport and trade compliance
• Leadership experience
• Experience in the global logistics service sector

Skills and Competencies
• profound knowledge of global transport, customs, global trade and compliance regulations
• Relevant professional competence
• Excellent MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Project management experience
• Experience in customs declaration
• SAP knowledge
• Very good English language communication skills
