Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Senior Manager Indirect Taxes MEU leads the center of excellence team for VAT in Bratislava, acts as regional process owner for other indirect taxes, and is responsible for the end-to-end indirect tax compliance processes in all countries belonging to the MEU region (over 20 EU and non-EU countries).

  • Ensure legal compliance (filings and payments) for all indirect tax obligations. You will also manage internal and external indirect tax audits, response, negotiation and resolution.
  • Drive a strong controls and compliance environment in the Indirect Tax team and ensure full compliance with our AER policies. You will also ensure that we comply with all indirect tax local laws and regulations in your area of responsibility (country/area/region).
  • Implement appropriate indirect tax strategies and best practices to reduce overall tax liabilities and/or generate cash flow benefits within the legal framework.
  • Drive for harmonization, efficiencies and improvements to ways of working and build a mindset of continuous improvement in the indirect tax team.
  • Build a high performing Indirect Tax team (Mondelēz International Business Services and third party providers). You will also recruit and develop talent across indirect Tax and drive our AER talent agenda.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

  • University study in taxes or economics, or similar professional education
  • At least 5 years working experience in the area of indirect taxes, with a strong focus on VAT
  • Experience in leading teams
