Job description, responsibilities and duties
Key Accountabilities:
• The Merck Security Operations Center (SOC) element covering the European time zone (follow-the-sun) is located in Bratislava, Slovakia. The key accountabilities for this position include:
• Administration of orchestration platforms utilized for cybersecurity detection and response activities
• Design automated actions to accelerate the validation, containment, and remediation of security incidents
• Create, maintain and manage a library of response use cases to common information security threats
• Perform updates of existing playbooks based on changes in the threat landscape or Merck security controls.
• Performing root cause analysis on outages and recommend actions to prevent recurrence
• Assist with training application and infrastructure teams not familiar with automation platforms
• Provide verbal and written reporting on platform coverage, health and possible improvement areas
• Support cyber defense exercises to help improve detection and response capabilities
