Job description, responsibilities and duties
For the Merck EU Security Operations Center (SOC), covering the European time zone located in Bratislava we are looking for a talented individual who has SIEM experience and wants to become a Splunk expert.
Key accountabilities:
• Development and administration of the Splunk platform, including installation, upgrades and other applicable changes.
• Develop reliable, efficient queries that will feed custom Alert, Dashboards and Reports
• Populate Splunk from 3rd party data sources.
• Performing root cause analysis on the SIEM platform outages and recommending actions to prevent recurrence
• Provide verbal and written reporting on SIEM coverage, infrastructure health and possible improvement areas

Work Experience:
• Prior experience with SIEM administration
• Experience in field of IT mandatory.
• Basic Linux and Windows admin experience.
• Basic scripting, the ability to understand maintenance scripts, cron jobs etc.
Job-Specific Competencies & Skills:
• English language on a level where you can understand instructions and respond to requests.
• Knowledge of IT and Cyber Security concepts
• Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills
