Job description, responsibilities and duties
The Systems Engineer is a part of the Satcom team of Systems Group and Implementation department . The Systems Engineer aims for operational excellence and supporting development of customer specific networks. The Systems Engineer reports to the SG&I Manager.
This role provides technical support on different levels to customer networks and in Marlink Enterprise infrastructure. Systems Engineer supports the following activities:
• Manage company services and infrastructure to secure operational stability
• Participate in documentation for operational use
• Cooperate with other groups on operational issues
• Technical support in handover process from project to operations phase
• Escalation resource for NOC in troubleshooting and fault restoration (2nd line)
• Recommend and execute modifications to company services and infrastructure in order to improve efficiency, reliability and performance
• Provide support in advanced network failures
• Initiate maintenance in the company`s own infrastructure
• Participate in technical working groups and follow up technical developments in the market
• Assist and execute tests on new / unknown equipment in cooperation other Technical Engineering Departments
• Support small customer change request orders
• Participate in Service duty scheme for 24/7 2nd line support if requested
• Develop and maintain training and systems documentation for educating the NOC and System Engineers
• Technically support and design review of non-standard solutions and customized projects
• Remote equipment configuration and support to field engineers
