Job description, responsibilities and duties
LEAF Academy is an international boarding high school located in Bratislava, Slovakia. The Academy opened its doors in 2016. It currently serves more than 100 students and has 30 full-time staffulty (staff and faculty) with plans to grow enrollment every year.
About the Position:
LEAF Academy is looking for a psychologist who would not only provide counseling but also lead the small Wellbeing team of two other counselors.
Since LEAF Academy students live in the boarding school environment and are in our care 24/7, LEAF Academy has a Wellbeing team to assist students with mental health challenges they face. The team consists of two part time, 0, 75 FTE psychologists who are also certified psychotherapists.
The Wellbeing team responds to students reporting mental health issues, cooperates with other staff members in ensuring students wellbeing, provides support to staff, communicates with external mental health care professionals and parents.
Head of Wellbeing Team’s role:
-lead weekly meetings with all team members
-ensure regular supervision for the team members
-support and guidance for the professional growth of Wellbeing team members
work distribution in the team
-create and maintain a comprehensive school well-being program
-provide psychological interventions including counseling and (if applicable) therapy to students
-be an ongoing resource for advisors, teachers, student life team, parents in -understanding adolescent development and specifics concerning mental health and special needs
-provide overnight on call support/ crisis intervention along with other counselors on a regular schedule
-annual review of Wellbeing team processes and protocols
-annual budget creation and review
-participate in Academy activities
