Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Head of Finance is responsible for the overall performance and direction of the “Record To Report” (R2R) stream within the BSC. The Head of Finance leads a team of Finance professionals (team leads and~50 employees) to ensure overall delivery of services to our partners.

As a member of the Leadership Team, the Head of Finance plays a critical role in building the capability and standards of the BSC and will support the development and sustainability of the BSC by ensuring service delivery excellence.

Main responsibilities:
- Set and manage “Record To Report” team performance and strategic direction, while ensuring delivery of day-to-day operations (e.g. forecasting, budget preparation and analysis, journal entries and reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, cost control, financial analysis, and period end procedures)
- Manages stakeholders and represents the team when dealing with business partners
- Develop annual budgets as well as look at long-term (approximately 2-3 years in advance) spending and resourcing plans for multiple process and operations within R2R
- Lead a team of R2R professionals to ensure that overall delivery of services is within agreed KPIs and SLAs
- Carry out people management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Plan, assign and direct work
- Appraise performance, provide feedback and coaching, and reward and discipline employees
- Provide opportunities for learning and self-development, and facilitate the development of technical competencies
- Represents the stream on Global level and in account management sessions with Countries
- Drive ongoing continuous improvement within R2R to improve profitability and sponsor improvements projects assigned to R2R

Personality requirements and skills

Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Management, Business, Finance, Accounting
- Training and certification in Six Sigma or LEAN, or similar quality management experience will be
a plus
- Accounting Professional Accreditation (e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) will be a plus

Experience:
- 5+ years of experience of supervising managers of multi functional or global teams in the past and
experience with working in an operations environment to deliver high quality outcomes and
results and overall 10+ professional experience in finance area
- 5+ years of experience working for a multinational organization and working with colleagues
internationally, preferably in a Shared Service Center
- 5+ years of experience with stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate effectively with clients of all levels and with fellow project team members

Knowledge and skills requirements:
- Expertise in Record-to-Report including best practices, technologies, processes, procedures and
tools. Knowledge of general accounting practices, financial management, sourcing, and
contracting processes
- Knowledge of Slovak accounting and tax principles will be a plus
- Ability to thinks strategically; taking a balanced short and long-term view when solving problems;
ability to utilize information from a wide variety of sources
- Result oriented, with high level of motivation for self-growth, along with the drive for growing team
members and overall organization
