Senior Finance Manager - General Accounting

What you will do 

Our Record to Report team are responsible for completing general accounting transactions across the JCI EMEA business portfolio, whilst at the same time, ensuring that we meet our internal and external reporting and control requirements. As a Senior Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the timely and accurate reporting of financial results. You will set up the structure to support the ongoing activities, managing, motivating and developing team members. You will also be expected to deliver department’s continuous quality improvements on financial reporting and control environment.  

How you will do it 
 

  • Ensuring smooth and accurate Month end close process for the assigned countries and coordinate closing activities with other related departments (AP, ICO, Local teams etc.) 
  • Managing team of Finance managers and Accountants, drive customer and partnership focused approach, proactive solution of identified queries, develop and motivate 
  • Coordinate timely and accurate preparation of regular management reporting for assigned countries and initiate review with the local management 
  • Ensuring the timely reporting and review of key financial information; monitor the performance and quality of the activities performed based on agreed Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”)  
  • Ensuring full compliance with local and US GAAP accounting rules, where applicable, as well as SOX compliance. 
  • Guaranteeing compliance with JCI procedures for all Team Members 
  • Ensuring that external partners (e.g. PWC) and regional partners receive accurate and on-time information 
  • Ensuring complete, accurate and timely review of BS reconciliations in a team 
  • Driving and support further regional standardization of financial processes to improve efficiencies and/ or control environment in line with the overall RTR team strategy and roadmap  
  • Formulating and administering approved accounting practices in fields 
  • Coordinating implementation of RTR improvement initiatives and harmonized accounting principles 
  • Key contact for the country local management and the first point of reference for common accounting queries 
  • Establishing clear objectives for performance and quality across all entities
What we look for
  • Min 8 years in the Accounting department of an industrial company or in an accounting firm, preferably audit background
  • Min 6 years experience with leading people and developing people
  • BA/ MBA degree in economics graduated in business administration/ management especially accounting, finance, controlling
  • Professional accountancy Qualification such as CPA, CIMA, ACCA is required (or in process of obtaining the certification).
  • US-GAAP/IFRS Experience, SOX Experience, Finance Analysis, (MS-Office, SAP, Oracle, iScala & HFM experience)
  • Fluent in English, other languages are an advantage
  • Shared service center experience is an advantage
