VAT Accounting Specialist

We are hiring a VAT Accounting Specialist into our VAT Compliance team in our Business Center in Bratislava!

Your responsibilities:

 

The VAT Specialist is involved in all aspects of VAT compliance and is the key support role for the Country Finance Services functions.

 

Your main responsibilities involve preparation of VAT returns, EC sale/purchase lists, Intrastat declarations for the EMEA region and other VAT documents. You prepare the reconciliation of VAT accounts and reclaims and support the set-up of EC business cases and VAT registrations. You also provide support for the Plants - especially related to I/C transactions, and the Direct & Indirect Purchasing and Accounts Payable/Receivable teams. 

 

Where required, you provide support to internal and external auditors during the audit.

 

As a VAT Specialist you are able to work independently, but also work well in a team setting – you believe that the best work is done in teams. You are familiar with several techniques of problem solving and process improvement. You are able to maintain good working relations with both internal and external stakeholders and you always put your customer first!

Required qualifications:

 

·        2-3 years of accounting or finance experience is essential

·        Ideally Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Accounting or similar

·        Fluency in English is essential

·        Strong computer skills (particularly MS Excel)

 

Preferred skills and qualifications:

·          VAT experience is highly desirable

·          Experience using an accounting system (e.g. SAP, Oracle)

·          Computer competency in the client-server environment using a wide range of application software

·          Fluency in another European language
