OPPORTUNITY
This role is essential to integrate fully to the continual development of the site waste and scrap management and support onsite activities during continual operation. Leading and coordinating site waste management outsourcing service and cleaning service. Soft Services work scope include managing and improving the services related to site cleaning.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Charge+ Cost Saving Projects (waste management)
• Plant Waste/Scrap Management/Scrap revenues – increasing of profit
• Plant waste legislative compliance, environmental authority reports, ISOH
• Packaging waste reduction lead
• ADR transport of hazardous goods (scrap air-bags, li-ion batteries, Fuel Farm fluids and gasses – plant compliance)
• Waste management documentation update (operational manuals etc)
• Waste Centre/Weightbridge/Waste collection points supervision/waste 5S audits/continual improvement
• Plant Emergency Plan for water protection/environmental incident trainings
• Internal environmental audits – all site. Paint Shop waste management support. Environmental reporting as appropriate (EMS toolkit, SOFI).
• Contractor coordination (site waste/scrap management service, site cleaning service)
• Provide environmental expertise on waste and scrap management
• Liaise and influence directly with local on site teams and regulator from acquisition, determining of environmental targets, permitting requirements, and operational requirements.
• Manage the environmental / sustainability project development delivery gateways, ensuring on-time reporting of key metrics to the programme teams.
• Liaise with internal teams to support provision of information to meet project gateway deliverable requirements.
• Planning and organising time to co-ordinate and attend meetings to support sustainability integration.
• Support engagement around Sustainability and Environmental matters within a range of projects teams on Darwin, providing professional environmental knowledge and guidance.
• Drive to ensure the most effective environmental solutions which deliver to business requirements and future-proofing.
• Continual improvement of the JLR Environment Management System on Site.
• Support, assurance of environmental permits, licences etc
CANDIDATE
Essential
• Environmental Legislation – EU and Local Slovakian
• Construction activities awareness
• Demonstrable experience of initiating Environment Management Systems
• Thorough and wide knowledge of environmental and sustainability issues, ideally within the automotive industry or comparable industry, with experience and knowledge of construction activities
• Able to provide training to improve knowledge of the wider team on site
• Driving change through implementation of best practice at design stages
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, excellent PC skills.
• Local lead with regulator liaison
• Degree in Science, Environment or Engineering with 10 years experience in a relevant field
• Personable, Good negotiator
• Fluent in English
Desirable
• Masters in Environmental Management or energy management
• Membership of professional body relevant to the role
• Time management
• Good level of business acumen
