This is the key technical department for the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. There are three parts: Attribute Quality and Process, Vehicle Integrity Team and Vehicle Engineering Management. Working here, you’ll give our vehicles their unique characteristics. It is all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.
The plant based Vehicle Engineering team is part of the VE Quality organisation and is responsible for current car (PVT) and new model launch quality standards in support of the corporate scorecard. You’ll manage and lead a team of engineers to investigate Squeak & Rattle, Body Hole Size, Wind Noise and Water Test issues identified both in-plant and in-market and work with teams to ensure that robust fixes are implemented. The role also encompasses investigating other VE issues, supporting all attributes and the wider VE team. This role offers a high profile position to deliver quality improvements to our products in order to exceed our customer’s expectations.
In your role you’ll:
• Coordinate and lead plant attribute support for new model programme launches at Nitra & Gratz from VP to J#1, supporting LCM/Process Chain reviews with issue summaries and attribute status
• Take responsibility for internal and external quality metrics and use them to drive continual improvement in current car attribute quality
• Run R202 events on current vehicles and track issues raised to resolution
• Manage and develop the VE structure within PVT & Launch and resource plant and programmes appropriately. Drive commonisation of standards/processes/reports across all JLR plants

Požiadavky
- degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline
- strong leadership of attributes at all levels.
- experience of plant based attribute testing and assessment, combined with the ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.
- strong team player with the ability to lead a cross-functional team of design, development and manufacturing engineers to resolve issues.
- excellent interpersonal and people management skills, you'll develop the current team and show an ability to assist them in achieving their deliverables.
- To be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a manufacturing launch environment
- Ability to professionally develop and mentor direct reports
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise team workload
- Good communication and presentation skills
