Vehicle Configuration and Test System Engineer

The Vehicle Configuration and Test System process downloads software to electronic modules on the vehicle and configures them to the correct vehicle specification, making the car function and ensuring it complies with market legislation. This role will work as part of a multi-skilled team at Nitra taking responsibility for the provision of a whole-life test system from the start of a vehicle programme through to early build stages and on to volume production


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the provision of a whole-life test system from the start of a vehicle programme
• Managing the VCATS deliverables so that they are compliant with programme milestones
• Manage current car activities and will provide functional management to a team of engineers
• Planning the introduction of new models
• Provide hands-on, track side support during early builds and launch phases
• Provide support to the manufacturing team for the prompt resolution of vehicle test issues
• Manage the introduction of new part numbers resulting from engineering change and model year actions
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

• Programme management experience and have the ability to drive tasks to resolution
• Ability to work in a challenging working environment, managing multiple programmes and having competing deadlines
• Capability to lead teams and will demonstrate leadership behaviours in your working relationships and communications, along with the ability and confidence to present programme status and effectively explain complex ideas to senior key stakeholders across the business.
• Equivalent experience along with experience of integrated vehicle electrical test systems and strategies and diagnostics.
• Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred.
• Understanding of manufacturing and have flexibility to travel between sites and adjust your working hours to suit.

• A good communicator with the ability to communicate complex ideas
• An effective team player who supports team members

Permanent working contract, working directly for JLR.
Meal card with €4 voucher per working day .
