In your role as STA Launch Manager you will have responsibility forsupporting the management of all supplier related quality issues in Plant Nitra that arise as a result of poor manufacturing processes within the supply base.
You will manage a team of STA Launch engineers who will work cross functionally with our Manufacturing and Engineerng teams as well as our supplier partners to provide technical Problem solving support and implement solutions to complex problems.
The STA Launch manager is the key conduit between the manufacturing plant and the wider STA organisation and as such is responsible for supporting the selection and implementation those suppliers required to carryout the High Impact Supplier Launch Challenge.

You will manage a team of STA Launch engineers who will work cross functionally with our Manufacturing and Engineerng teams as well as our supplier partners to provide technical Problem solving support and implement solutions to complex problems.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Lead / support robust closure of all Supplier Quality related AIMS for all new model related programmes. The team will work closely with our SPQ colleagues to ensure containment actions are in place within 24hrs and to achieve 8D problem solving resolution to D5 within 30 days, with full closure to D8 within 60days. (as per JLR QOS 055)
- Managing the team to ensure creation and delivery of WCPA Supplier Sufficiency plans to drive zero incremental score for new model vehicles.
- Implement the High Impact Supplier Launch Challenge process for those suppliers that have recorded significant / repeat quality issues during pre build activities within plant. Ensure appropriate escalation for those suppliers that fail to complete the challenge by Job1 +90 . (Escalation in line with JLR QOS 088)
- Lead / support cross functional problem soving with associated manufacturing, Engineering and supplier launch teams to robustly close out all supplier related manufacturing 5F issues.
- Represent STA launch and wider STA site teams for all Launch related cadence such as; Launch Start up meetings, Executive Process Chains, AIMS start up reviews and WCPA Reviews.
- Key point of contact and leader in all Supplier Quality Concerns within the manufacturing facility.
- Partners with cross functional teams to root cause and problem solve complex quality concerns.
- Manage productive relationships with internal stakeholder and suppliers represenatives to drive robust problem resultion and ensure all escalated supplier manufacturing process releated issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Implement standards, processes and working methods to maximise skills of technical subject matter experts and spread learning throughout the wider STA team to drive our learning organisation vision.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximise Supplier Technical Assistnace influence and ensure alignment with Purchasing processes and policy
- Lead and develop the ongoing capability of all team members and associated department processes and activities to maximise efficicency and effectiveness

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering gained at management level
- A proven leadership track record in a manufacturing or technical environment
- Broad experience of managing external stakeholder and supplier relationsip management
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship management skills and experience
- Able to manage and execute complex projects on time and within budget
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels of the organisation and with external
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Experienced problem solver and strong advocate of Lean manufacturing
